WHY CHOOSE A SPORTS MASSAGE?

Sports massage can enhance how your body functions, responds to training and recovers afterwards. Its key benefits include:

Improved performance
Better flexibility, range of motion and muscle function can help you train and perform with confidence.

Injury prevention
Identifying and easing tight or overworked areas reduces the likelihood of injuries and keeps you moving well.

Less muscle soreness
Targeted soft-tissue work can ease DOMS after intense activity so you can return to training sooner.

Faster recovery
Increased blood flow and reduced inflammation support your body’s natural repair processes after exercise or competition.

Reduced stress and tension
Sports massage can ease physical tightness as well as mental pressure, helping you stay focused and balanced.

NOT JUST FOR ATHLETES

Deep tissue and sports-style massage can benefit anyone experiencing muscular tension, aches or stress. Many patients choose sports massage to complement their chiropractic care. Chiropractic focuses on joints, the spine and the nervous system. Sports massage focuses on soft tissue. Together they provide a well-rounded approach to recovery and long-term wellbeing.

Some people worry that a massage therapist may not fully understand the complexities of their condition. Sports Massage solves this by offering soft-tissue treatment delivered by a chiropractor who already knows your case history.

MEET TOM HATCH

Our chiropractor Tom Hatch is able to offer deeper tissue work for those who like a firm massage, but is also able to adapt the pressure and techniques to suit the needs and preferences of any individual. With access to your chiropractic notes, Tom will have full knowledge of your chiropractic care, enabling him to take your full medical and treatment history into account in order to maximise the benefit of your session with him. Before studying chiropractic, Tom qualified in sports massage (BTEC Level 3), and soft tissue work remains a special interest for him.

Book a “Sports Massage Plus” appointment with Tom (45 minutes), and he will be happy to include chiropractic adjustments, in addition to having ample time for sports massage. Alternatively, the whole appointment can be dedicated to pure sports massage, at the same time benefitting from Tom’s chiropractic knowledge. Tom will use his blend of skills to suit your preferences.

Sports Massage Plus appointments can be booked online, or by calling Reception on 01428 642778.
