Infection Control: Our Policies and Procedures.
The Decision to Reopen
After closing our doors on Saturday 21 March, Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic is at last ready to reopen. This is a decision that has been taken after a considerable amount of work behind the scenes.
We take the safety of our patients and staff very seriously. In order to be ready to welcome patients again, we have been busy developing Risk Assessments and Protocols.
The Government has always stated that we are allowed to be open for business, classifying us as a “medical need”. The General Chiropractic Council, our regulatory body, have also stated that we may open at any stage, but with the important condition that patients have been protected and safety maintained. Our insurance has had the same requirement. However, it was not initially clear exactly what needed to be done to maintain patient safety, or how this could be achieved. In addition, The Clinic felt strongly that it was necessary to support the strong “Stay at Home” message which was so important to allow COVID-19 to be controlled.
The decision to reopen has been taken in the knowledge that all visitors to Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic, both patients and staff, can be afforded a reasonable level of safety. The Clinic has measures in place to be compliant with all Public Health England requirements in terms of maintaining social distancing, PPE and appropriate sanitisation procedures. We have considered every aspect of our operations in detail to optimise the measures in place.
Despite the precautions that we have taken, there remains an inherent risk of human-to-human transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Whilst working hard to manage and minimise risks, Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic cannot guarantee that there is no risk as a result of attending the clinic and/or receiving treatment. Patients will be attending at their own risk. We therefore believe that patients are entitled to have access to all the processes that we have been through to get to this stage in order that they can make their own assessment of the risks.
Protocols and Policies
We would therefore like to share our Practice Procedures Chart, and Policy documents, which have been based on a detailed Risk Assessment. We hope that this provides all of the information that you require to make an informed decision about whether you wish to attend the Clinic.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss our Policies further. You can call Reception on 01428 642778, or email Michelle Carrington (Clinic Owner) on email@example.com.
