As from Monday 11th May, Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic started a phased re-opening for face-to-face treatments. It is so exciting to be able to welcome patients back!
Behind the scenes, Michelle has been working hard on Risk Assessments, procuring PPE, and adaptions to the premises. Protocols are now in place to enable us to fully comply with Infection Control advice from Public Health England. With these measures in place, and guidance from the General Chiropractic Council and the British Chiropractic Association, we consider that it is the right time to open our doors to patients again.
Our new procedures are outlined below, but you can find further detail regarding the Risk Assessments and Policies in place in our related blog.
Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic is operating with strict protocols in place to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. We take the safety of our patients and staff very seriously, and have made every effort to implement stringent policies to protect everyone.
Despite these precautions, there remains an inherent risk of transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Whilst working hard to manage and minimise risks, Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic cannot guarantee that there is no risk as a result of attending the clinic. Patients will be attending at their own risk.
Initially, the Clinic will be open on Monday and Wednesday (all day), and Fridays (mornings only). Michelle and Daniela are now back at work. Stuart and Fiona will join them from the 1st week of June. From 1 June we will also be open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Online bookings are suspended for a few weeks whilst we make the transition back to more regular hours. The best way to book an appointment is to call Reception. The Receptionist will be there Monday and Wednesday (all day) or Friday (mornings). You can leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. As soon as we have settled back into a pattern we will reopen Online Bookings, which we know are popular.
For the time being, we are only offering treatment to “emergencies”, i.e. those with moderate to severe symptoms which require urgent treatment. We are asking those with mild symptoms, and asymptomatic maintenance patients, to wait a bit longer before booking in.
You are in the “at risk” group, as defined by Public Health England, if you are:
– Over 70
– Have a long term health condition
– Have a weakened immune system.
We advise you not to receive face-to-face treatment at this time if you fall into any of these higher risk categories, or have close contact with someone who falls into these categories. However, if you feel that your symptoms are sufficiently severe to seek treatment, we are willing to offer you an appointment. The chiropractor may want to call you to discuss your visit and the possible alternatives before you come. Should someone in this “at risk” category attend for treatment, we will of course, offer the highest level of protection that we are able to.
Unfortunately, we remain unable to see any people with complex medical needs who are shielding. The chiropractors are happy to offer telephone advice or a video consultation to these patients, so do get in touch if you are struggling. Visit our Blog “Online Consultations: Your Guide” to find out how these work, or call Reception for further information.
Craniosacral Therapy sessions will not be offered at the moment due to the longer periods of face-to-face contact. If you book a regular appointment with Michelle she may still be able to apply some cranial techniques.
As you can imagine, the patient experience will be a bit different to usual due to the social distancing and infection control policies that we have in place.
You will have been asked to complete an online COVID-19 Consent form, including a statement that you are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
Please come to the Clinic in clean clothes and only bring essential personal possessions.
It is important that you arrive 3 minutes before your appointment time (not any earlier), to allow time to be health checked and to wash your hands before you go through for your treatment. Please come alone. If you need to be accompanied for a medical reason, let us know in advance.
Please ring the door bell and wait outside where indicated. The door will be on a security latch, so do not try to enter. You will have a temperature check and will be asked health screening questions before you are invited inside.
Immediately upon entry to the building, you will be asked to wash your hands.
Wherever possible, the Clinic layout has been organised to allow social distancing at 2m. This social distance reduces the need for PPE. We are fortunate to have plenty of windows in the Clinic, and will be making full use of these to achieve optimum ventilation.
Keeping safe during your treatment:
When the chiropractor is closer than 2m, they will wear a surgical mask, apron and gloves. They will also be wearing clothing that is only worn at work, and will be regularly changed between appointments.
Patients will be asked to wear a face covering. You can bring your own face mask, purchase a fabric mask from us (£3), or use a free single use mask provided by us.
Every contact surface in the treatment room is sanitised with anti-viral cleaning agents between each patient. Our Reception Team have become cleaning superheroes!
We are managing the flow of patients through the Clinic to prevent contact with anyone else when you attend. The chiropractor will book your next appointment and show you out of an alternative exit. Please leave promptly so that the Receptionist has time for their sanitising routine between patients.
The Chiropractors continue to offer video consultations. These are for existing and new patients who are unable to attend Clinic, or prefer not to. Call Reception on Monday, Wednesday or Friday to make a booking.
All of the Team at Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic are extremely grateful for the support and understanding of our clients during this difficult time. We are excited to be able to see our patients for face-to-face treatment again!
