COVID-19: Considerations when attending for treatment
This is a rapidly changing situation, and we are constantly monitoring the information from Public Health England, and guidance from our professional and regulatory bodies, to help us with our decision making. You can find out more about our policies in this respect from our Coronavirus page.
Our current stance is that we are no longer offering hands on treatments. We are implementing an option for video consultations for both existing and new patients. As always, we are happy to provide advice by email or by phone. For the time being, we have also introduced a “Hands Off” Consultation option, where social distancing is maintained at all times, for those unable to access online technology. However, we would like anyone considering booking this option to seriously consider the risks according to their personal situation.
COVID-19: Risk of Transmission
Whilst Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic has taken many precautions to limit your risk of exposure to Coronavirus, we cannot guarantee that there is no risk to you as a result of attending the clinic and/or receiving treatment.
Haslemere Chiropractic Clinic operates with very strict hygiene and sanitation protocols in place to protect our patients, which have been enhanced to take the current situation into account. Despite these precautions, there is an inherent risk of human-to-human transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). For details of our hygiene and sanitation protocols, please speak to any team member, or visit our Coronavirus Information page.
Despite these measures, it is impossible to completely eliminate all risks of contracting COVID-19 in the chiropractic clinic setting. We are therefore unable to see any patients, except for “Hands Off” consultations for those unable to access online technology. We still request that you do not visit the Clinic, even with social distancing in place, if you are unwell, or are self isolating due to contact with someone with the virus.
How does Coronavirus Spread?
This virus appears to be spreading easily, and is thought to spread mainly from person-to person through people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) or through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
Whilst it is currently thought that people are most contagious when they are symptomatic, it is possible some spread might be possible before people show symptoms and also that there asymptomatic “carriers”. For many people coronavirus is a relatively mild illness. However, certain groups have been identified as being at greater risk.
If you are:
– Over 70
– Have a long term health condition or;
– Have a weakened immune system
Even with out “Hands Off” consultation option, there are still risks inherent to attending. If you wish to discuss this with your chiropractor, please call the Clinic before booking.
How we can help without a visit to the Clinic
During this period, the chiropractors will be happy to provide advice by email. Email Reception on email@example.com, and they will put you in touch with the chiropractor. You can also request a telephone call from your chiropractor for advice. We are working to put the technology in place to offer video consultations to provide a clinical opinion, self help advice and exercises. See our previous blog for tips about boosting your natural immunity.
We send you our sincere best wishes for staying healthy, and look forward to a return to normality as soon as possible!
