The corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic is a rapidly changing situation, and we have taken the difficult decision to close the Clinic, as from 21 March. With the current need for social distancing in order to control the spread of coronavirus we saw this an essential step, which has been clarified by the Prime Minster’s statement on Monday 23 March. However, we are committed to offering continued support and advice to both existing and new patients throughout this challenging time. Whilst we are desperately sad not to be able to offer hands on treatment, unfortunately the risks presented by the virus are greater than the risk of musculoskeletal pain.
As an alternative to face-to-face appointments, we will be offering online consultations which will allow us to continue to offer support and advice, until we are able to open as usual again. These will be available from 1 April, and can be booked through our online booking system.
We are hoping to maintain a level of Reception cover when possible, although this will vary according to government restrictions in place at any time. If you wish to contact us, emails to email@example.com are the best point of contact, because these can be monitored remotely. You can also leave a telephone message, and we will respond at the earliest opportunity. In addition, we will be posting blogs and social media posts about looking after your health during this period of social distancing.
We are offering video consultations for both existing and new patients. The hands on element of our treatments is an important component. However, we also feel that the assessment, advice and exercise prescription that we can offer is of value, and certainly better than nothing. We will have the technology up and running by 1 April, and you will be able to book a video consultation on our website.
We are very aware that many people will be working from home, without necessarily having the right work station set up. Stuart Robinson is our ergonomics expert, and if you book a video consultation with him he will be glad to take a look at your set up and provide advice to make the best of your situation.
We are committed to keeping in touch and supporting our patients through this time. We realise how upsetting this situation is for those who find that our maintenance sessions keep them going. We are therefore going to endeavour to call every maintenance patient at the time that their visit would have been scheduled. This will be to see how you are doing and offer advice to manage things as best as possible until you are next able to come in to Clinic. If you have a flare up of your symptoms and want some advice, but aren’t sure whether you want a video consultation, we would also ask you to contact us and the chiropractor will do everything they can to help over the phone.
If you are self isolating, or simply feeling a bit stressed and lonely, please do give us a call. Reception cover will vary according to restrictions in place, but whenever we have a Receptionist working they would love to talk to you. If we don’t answer the phone, simply leave a message requesting a call back. There doesn’t have to be a reason – it can just be for a chat.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR PATIENTS FOR YOUR SUPPORT THROUGH THIS PERIOD, WHICH IS CHALLENGING TO US ALL ON VERY MANY LEVELS. WE SEND YOU OUR VERY BEST WISHES.
DON’T FORGET TO LOOK AFTER YOUR GENERAL WELL BEING – KEEP ACTIVE, GET FRESH AIR WHENEVER YOU CAN, EAT WELL AND MAINTAIN SOCIAL INTERACTIONS EVEN IF YOU ARE IN ISOLATION.
